For restaurant owners
Cited for pests? Fix it fast, and keep your doors open.
A pest citation can lead to a re-inspection, a lower score, or a closure. Here is a plain plan, and pest control companies in your city you can contact today.
What to do in the next 48 hours
- Read the inspector's note. It says exactly what was found and where, such as droppings in dry storage or flies at the prep table.
- Call a licensed pest control company. Ask for a service report you can show the inspector.
- Seal and clean. Fix gaps under doors, remove food residue, keep storage off the floor, and empty trash often.
- Keep your pest control log. Inspectors often ask for it at the re-inspection.
- Check your local rules. Re-inspection timing and fees differ by city and county. Your inspection report lists the contact number.
This is general information, not legal advice. Follow the instructions on your own inspection report.
